Today, we celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. King devoted his life to speaking out and taking action against racism and social injustice.

He emphasized not only the importance of taking action, but also the abomination of inaction. Dr. King stated, “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

He added, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
Dr. King also implored, “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”

Taking action is critical. Avoiding inaction is equally important. That’s the message. And it continues to ring true today.

Do something. Often times the first step is the hardest, but we must realize the cost of not taking that step

Martin-Luther-King-jr-quote-3
Many things, like Dr. King’s work against racism and social injustice, impact so many generations of people. Other things, like changing your mindset from “I’ll just wait and see if this pain goes away” to “I’m going to see a physical therapist today”, will impact the rest of your life.

There are also simple things like choosing PtEverywhere to serve your practice and your patients. Investing in your business to save time and deliver a more powerful therapy experience to your patients requires taking a first step – but what is the cost to you, your business, your family, and your patients if you do nothing?

Whatever it is, big or small, we encourage you to consider how doing nothing can hurt you and hurt others. Today is the day that you take that first step you’ve been avoiding.
