Attitude of Gratitude

2020 has presented significant challenges including loneliness, financial hardship, anxiety, and illness. It’s been exhausting to rely on virtual meetings for human connection, and many of us are missing in-person gatherings with loved ones.
Despite these difficulties, there is much to appreciate. Technology has enabled connection and remote work in ways that would have seemed impossible not long ago. For physical therapists in particular, telehealth capabilities, video communication tools, and the ability to record home exercise programs for patients have proven invaluable.
On a personal level, physical activity — walks, cycling, exercise routines — has taken on new meaning. The pandemic has brought a newfound awareness of simple pleasures like human connection and movement. Adversity fosters resilience and innovation; difficult experiences build strength and provide learning opportunities.
There is also a deeper perspective to be found. Social interactions previously taken for granted now carry new weight: “Never again will I take for granted the ability to walk confidently into a room full of people.”
This season is an opportunity for rest and reflection. The PtEverywhere community is grateful for every physical therapist and practice owner working hard to care for patients during challenging times. We remain committed to supporting you as we build a stronger professional community together.
